Croup, also known as laryngotracheobronchitis, is primarily subglottic. Viral etiology.

History: Age typically 3 months to 3 years

Physical exam: Inspiratory stridor, barking cough, and hoarseness. Airway obstruction is rare with croup.

Diagnostic imaging: X-ray – “steeple sign” or narrowing of subglottic region.
